WHAT are these...? The answers!

OK so:

1. The long, thin stick-like critter on the left is a white-nose pipefish, part of the same family as the seahorse. Here for more info and here for better (!) photos.

10 points to Sander for identifying that one :o)


2. The thing that looks like a used Kleenex on top of the pipefish is a Spotted Sea Hare - a type of mollusk, don't you know. (Nobody guessed this one, by the way).   More info and photos here.

After all these years, we're still finding new and cool things on Dive Bus house reef, Pierbaai.
