Wow, wow, wow! What a crazy last few weeks here at The Dive Bus!
First of all we were away with The Dive Bus does Bonaire team, and hadn't quite managed to catch up with ourselves before 21 Naked Chicken Divers (and Bubblewatchers) descended upon us for a mad week of tremendously fun diving and other ridiculousness.
The week kicked off with us meeting the Chickens at Curacao airport. Wearing a very fetching - and rather hot - fluffy, rubber chicken head, Mark managed to make a lot of new friends whilst awaiting the arrival of the group, and lost several pounds in sweat.
Staying at the lovely Champartments ("Casa NCD"), with a fleet of busses between them, The Dive Bus Crew led the convoy of crazy chickens around the best shore diving sites in Curacao for 6 days. The turtles, seahorses, frogfish, lobster and eagle rays we'd ordered in advance, showed up as planned, making for some very happy photographers and videographers.
A week's diving in Curacao is not complete without a night dive on our amazing house reef, Pierbaai, and the group weren't disappointed. The night dive was even more fun that usual with Chef Raymond preparing a tasty BBQ at The Dive Bus beforehand, even though it affected everyone's weights requirements... The team lunch at Sol Food would have had the same effect !
A tremendously fun week was finished off with a Salsa class at the Casa with hugely patient instructor, Robert, which was hysterical, followed by a banquet that would have fed 50 people, courtesy of Chef Raymond.
Tearful goodbyes and a lot of hugs were exchanged at the airport the following day as we waved off the tired but happy NCDs. The dive shop seemed strangely quiet on our return...
A HUGE thanks to Joe and Terri for organising this trip, all the crazy NCDs themselves, photographers Liz and Eelco, and all the folks who worked hard to ensure the group had even more fun that we did on their week in Curacao.
'Til next time, you crazy chickens!
